The Foodhero App Is A Must For Canadians
I was alerted to the Foodhero app by a CBB reader who knew we conveyed grocery savings to our community.
She wanted to share her feedback on the app so I could investigate and possibly share it with all of you.
The new Foodhero grocery savings platform is a well-organized app.
When you log in to the Foodhero app, you will see the closest Sobeys grocery store to your home.
I love how all the items are categorized, not just a long list like other applications.
Foodhero also allows you to select dietary preferences regarding items you see.
The whole customer experience, from the app to pick-up, is terrific from beginning to end.

Grocery Savings For Canadians With The Foodhero App
Since this blog started, grocery savings have been a massive part of why many readers have landed on CBB.
With a list of over 300 grocery-saving blog posts for Canadians, it pleases me to share my review of the Foodhero app.
Pros: Foodhero App
- Includes a time when the Foodhero app will update
- It is a very organized app, which makes it easy to follow
- Filter to sort products by price, best deals, and expiration dates.
Cons: Foodhero App
- $1.79 service fee on every order, no matter how much you spend or save. (although it’s under a con, we must remember that the app needs to earn money to pay people to keep it running.
- Currently, I only see Sobeys sharing deals. We don’t have a Sobeys, but we do have Metro. I look forward to more of the available stores posting deals.
What Is The Foodhero App About?

The app is maybe worthwhile if you live in Eastern Canada. In the West there are a handful of Co-ops in rural areas and I’m not sure how many IGAs are still around. Not many. The distance one would have to travel to reach one of these stores – an hour’s drive or longer – wouldn’t make it worthwhile to use this app. I’d never even heard of Metro or Sobeys until I spent time in Toronto and the other stores I’ve never heard of. But it’s a good idea to help cut food waste. I like the concept, but have no use for the participating stores.
Ah ok, so there is not any close to where you live I’m guessing?
