Sadly, there never will be magic when it comes to money and diets.<\/p>\n
What there will be is truth in motivation, hard work, and perseverance to achieve goals.<\/strong><\/p>\n Let me be clear about one thing, we’ve all at one point in our lives believed someone or something that turned out to be false.<\/strong><\/p>\n That’s human nature however as technology and our world evolves scams get harder to detect and at times they stare us in the face.<\/p>\n The need to wipe out debt and remove the weight of stress can propel anyone even at the risk of losing everything.<\/p>\n One of the most common online scams I’ve seen lately revolves around weight-loss which is a billion-dollar industry.<\/p>\n The Keto diet has lit up social media and when that happens the goons come out to play or should I say, prey?<\/p>\n The thought of having a better body shape without effort or following a successful timeline as another is like winning the jackpot.<\/p>\n How many of you have seen the comment spammer on Facebook that SO MANY PEOPLE<\/strong> stumble into?<\/p>\n This is how it goes and why I decided to write this post today because I honestly have had enough of the bananas (another word for B.S).<\/p>\n It will be a photo of a beautiful woman as a Facebook photo to catch your attention but not as thrilling as what she says.<\/p>\n I’ve lost 30lbs in 10 days.<\/p>\n Comment YES<\/strong> below if you want my FREE Keto Meal Plan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Honestly, it eats me alive when I see these idiots posting comments like this just as much as scam calls about a Microsoft virus on my computer.<\/p>\n And the amount of people that comment YES<\/strong> far succeeds anything I’ve ever seen before and baffles my mind.<\/p>\n Let’s stop and THINK about this for a moment.<\/p>\n Let’s explore the first question.<\/p>\n When you volunteer to do something it’s because there is a greater cause or need for your assistance and it makes you feel good inside.<\/p>\n You want no monetary gain from the service you provide and only want to be thanked for your time and effort.<\/p>\n Typically volunteering lasts short-term or perhaps over a year for an organization even spreading a word.<\/p>\n This is where people can mix up volunteering with working thus almost being preyed upon or even scammed into buying something that did not want to buy.<\/p>\n Whether the service, products, or information provided is true if you were coerced to visit under pretenses to get something free that will end up costing you money, you’ve been duped.<\/p>\n But you’ve only been swindled out of cash because you believe so strongly that the benefits someone else received are what you will get too.<\/p>\n It may be losing weight quickly, paying off debt in a flash, earning thousands of dollars quickly, or becoming an ambassador for a product you have to pay the shipping on.<\/p>\n The Free Results<\/p>\n I went to the URL that she provided throughout the comment section only to find an extensive post about the keto diet.<\/p>\n It was littered with advertising links and it was inaccurate and mixed with a regular diet.<\/p>\n Here let’s look at that free keto meal plan she says you’d get.<\/p>\n Rice, Apples, Whole Grain Bread on a Keto diet is a massive NO.<\/p>\n This has zero to do with keto and more about who has clicked the link to get what they thought was a keto meal plan.<\/p>\n All they got was a keto article filled with ways the owner of the website would make a fortune from people visiting the blog, clicking the link, or even better buying something.<\/p>\n Let’s have a look at how many people believed this person.<\/p>\n 785 people liked this comment and likely many of them clicked on her link to get her magical keto weight loss meal plan.<\/p>\n The person who is doing this either runs the website or is being paid by the owner to drop these scam links.<\/p>\n Let’s discuss the free shipping tactic.<\/p>\n The Wish App is a great example of products that are offered for free but you only pay the shipping.<\/p>\n Sadly, most people don’t work for free so whether it’s advice you receive on social media or someone at the grocery store trying to set you up for a credit card that comes with a freebie, there’s always a catch.<\/p>\n What is that catch? Money.<\/strong><\/p>\n Sure credit cards might have an introductory low-interest-rate offer or zero interest rate but after 6 months it shoots up to 21%.<\/p>\n When you don’t pay your monthly credit card in full and the interest is added on Cha-Ching you just made someone money.<\/p>\n It may not be apparent on the surface but no one works for free, not even me.<\/p>\n When I started this blog, I worked for free as I didn’t have a timeline as I just blogged about our journey.<\/p>\n Most people who are new to blogging think of it as an online journal and that’s about it.<\/p>\n I have to admit that’s basically where I started because I was naive however I did read a Blogging For Dummies book.<\/p>\n What I learned in that book was how to start a blog but I never got around to the financial goal setting part.<\/p>\n It has been 9 years since I started blogging and now this has become a business where I earn a five-figure income.<\/p>\n To be fair I lost tonnes of money over the years by not monetizing this blog the way I should have.<\/p>\n I’ve even been duped by people with advertising I didn’t want or had no idea about.<\/p>\n The thing is blogging is a business that goes far deeper than what you see on the surface. WAY DEEPER.<\/p>\n Advertising is about spreading the word as you’ve seen on this blog and how you choose to interpret it falls in your lap.<\/p>\n Where it becomes fishy is when people sell you a lifestyle or prey upon a weakness you have with sketchy intentions.<\/p>\n As a business such as a blog as it grows so does the cost of managing it and no one is going to do it for free. Nobody.<\/p>\n Do I disclose that? Of course, I do because I’m transparent and I don’t try to pull the wool over your eyes.<\/p>\n Have I always?
